Marta Freiria ThermoFisher Scientific
Marta has 24 years of experience in the CRO and healthcare industry. Since 2024 Marta has overseen the Commercial team for Clinical Development services within Thermo Fisher’s PPD Clinical Research business, providing strategic leadership and direction across both biopharma and biotech segments. She joined the company in 2006 in a European business development role and later assumed several leadership positions of increasing responsibility in global commercial and operations teams, including Global Head of Biopharma Partnership and Project Delivery Centralized Services. In 2022, she was named Global Head of Strategic Business Solutions, responsible for division-wide functions of business enablement, capacity planning and business insights and analytics. Additionally, Marta has been a member of the board of directors for the PPD-SNBL joint venture in Japan since 2019.
Marta earned her chemistry degree at the Universidad Autónoma Madrid, Spain. She holds a doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry from University College London (UCL), U.K., and a master’s in biopharmaceuticals from the University Paul Sabatier Toulouse, France. Marta is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
